How We Work
What's
it like to work with Your Remodeling Coach? On this page
we'll give you an idea of the results our clients get,
how we approach client projects, and how we differ from
most others in the home improvement industry.
What Can You Expect?
Your
Remodeling Coach is a source of guidance and service to
the owners or buyers of homes that need to be remodeled.
We find out their needs and expectations and help
them make decisions that lead to successful projects.
If
you are satisfied with the status quo, our help
will have no value to you. However, if you have questions
or concerns, we can help you. We can help you get unbiased
information and show you how to avoid pitfalls. You can
expect outcomes that conserve your money and time and cause
the least stress.
What
you need and expect determines what we do. We may
simply answer your questions or we may help you throughout
your project. It's up to you. If you have questions regarding
products, codes, zoning, etc., we can find the answers
for you. If you need to decide between options, we can
estimate the cost of each option. If you need to know if
a contractor is qualified or if the contract covers all
of your expectations, we can help you.
Guiding Beliefs
Anyone who
improves his or her home has the right to good value and
satisfaction, yet a large number of homeowners get neither. Some
contractors are unqualified, unethical, or just dishonest.
They get work taking advantage of our desire to get more
and spend less. Contracts with these companies usually
become big headaches and bad investments.
You, the
homeowner, are the Owner
and Manager of Your Remodeling Team. You
may create problems for yourself if you:
- Don't prepare a sound game plan
- Don't properly qualify the players you
choose
- Don't read and understand what is
in their contracts
You,
the homeowner, are also the Rookie
on Your Remodeling Team. You
will need someone to help level the playing field for
you. You are vulnerable because you lack experience. While
veteran players (designers, suppliers, and contractors)
may give you some good advice, this may be biased
because their loyalty is to themselves, not you.
Our Approach
Our relationship
begins with your telephone call or email. It continues
as we discuss your needs and issues, your timing and your
budget. If we can answer your questions on the phone or
in an email, there will be no charge for the first half
hour and that could be the extent of our relationship.
Each client
has a unique set of needs and constraints and a
site visit is normally required. The purpose of the site
visit is to define all the issues that make up the problem,
determine a plan of action and, if appropriate, prepare
a proposal for the work required.
What Makes Us Unique?
Our goal
is to make New Jersey homeowners successful when they remodel. We
have the skills, experience and wisdom to make a difference
in the outcome of your project.
With over
40 years of technical and management experience in
construction, we have a unique perspective on the home
improvement industry.
