Head Coach

Tom Davis, founder of YOUR REMODELING COACH, spent 40 years building his expertise in the construction industry -- for the past 20 years as a self-employed remodeling contractor. In 2006, he retired as a contractor and became a consultant.

Tom is a civil engineer who worked for three large firms in New York, New Jersey, Aruba, and Vietnam before becoming a remodeler. His assignments included: 

• Lead Structural Engineer with Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Quade and Douglas at Newport News shipyard for nuclear submarine construction

• Planner/Designer and Construction Engineer at Exxon facility in Aruba for unloading supertankers and reloading small tankers destined for U.S. ports

• Earthmoving Platoon Leader and Quality Control Engineer for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vietnam for construction of 66 kilometers of “superhighway”

Before going on active duty, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Drexel University and his master’s degree in structural engineering at the University of Illinois.

As a teenager, Tom helped design and build a cottage and speedboat in Avalon, NJ. Tom is married and lives in Dunellen, NJ. He has two adult children and two grandchildren.

He is a member of the Central New Jersey Chapter of NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) and BNI (Business Network International). Tom is also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
